China adopts Ubuntu as the official OS of China

In a move that will give open source software a boost in the public eye, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has chosen Ubuntu as the base for an operating system that is more suitable for Chinese users. It will go by the name of Ubuntu Kylin and will be released by April.

Flickr introduces hashtags in iOS app

Flickr has updated its app for iOS with the ability to add hashtags to any image. While the website does allow you to add “tags” to any image to allow easier search, these don’t show up as hashtags in the app itself.
