The Samsung Galaxy S4 is here
The covers have finally been taken off the Samsung Galaxy S4 and whats been unveiled is a beast of a phone with more or less the same looks of it’s predecessor the SIII and a lot of new features to make you go “Wow!”
Let’s get the specs out of the way first. The S4 has a sharp 5″ screen with a 1080p Super AMOLED HD display which works even when you are wearing gloves! At 441 PPI, you can be sure that images are crisp and lively on that massive display. 2GB “DDR3” ram, with 64GB of onboard storage with the option to expand means you will never run out of memory. A 13MP camera at the back and a 2MP camera at the front which let you take pictures and videos with both at the same time! And the best part is, it’s running the latest and greatest version of Android out yet, 4.2.2 Jellybean. The processor is Samsung’s Exynos Octa-Core processor which utilizes big.LITTLE architecture to switch between two Quad core chips. The video below might help to explain how it works.
This technology makes it very energy efficient and can reportedly increase battery life upto 70%. The battery itself is a 2600mAH which will ensure that you don’t run out of battery soon. Apart from these the phone is running Samsung’s TouchWiz Nature UI with a lot of enhanced features. “Air View” shows you a thumbnail with info of images, emails, videos, texts etc when you hover your finger over the screen. The “Smart Pause” feature detects when your face is turned away from the screen and automatically pauses the video you might be watching. “Samsung Smart Scroll” scrolls the browser or emails up and down without you having to touch the screen. It detects your face looking at the screen or movement of your wrist and then scroll the pages up or down accordingly.
The “Group Play” sounds great when meeting up with people at parties or events. It lets users share music, videos, photo, documents, and play games with others around them without even requiring a Wi-Fi AP or cellular signal. The “Share Music“ option allows users to have the same song playing on different handsets in sync. The “Dual Video Call” function is something new. It enables you to make and receive a video call with others while showing what you are looking at during the call.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 packs a lot more features which will slowly yet surely be discovered as soon it is released in the market around April end. Are you excited about this device? Will it be your next purchase? Do let us know in the comments below.
