Facebook launches physical gift cards
Facebook launches physical gift cards
Facebook introduced Gifts for US residents back in September. It was a very simple way to send gifts to people in your friends list for almost any occasion without any hassles. Now Facebook is taking the concept of gifting offline with their new Facebook Card.
Initial launch partners for this new service are Jamba Juice, Olive Garden, Sephora, and Target. This reusable card will hold separate balances for each and every store. For example, you could receive 10$ for Target from you mom as a gift and your father’s gift of 15$ for Olive Garden will be consolidated on the same card. The accounts and transactions can be handled from the account settings on your desktop or even on your phone. Facebook will send real time notifications when your balances change because of any transaction.
The card can be refilled at any time and once you possess the card, whenever anybody gifts you an amount it will get added to your account automatically. The concept of Facebook gift cards is especially useful when you are not sure of what to buy for the person. With their account refilled with the gift balance, the recipient can make the most satisfying choice for themselves. Facebook Gift cards will slowly be rolled out to users across the US.
