Send Self destruct messages with the Facebook Poke app
Facebook has turned its “Poke” feature into a full fledged app which allows you to send messages which self destruct after 10 seconds. The app which as of now is only available for iOS is being called a competitor to popular app Snapchat which has similar features.
You can send pictures, messages or videos to one or more friends. The catch is it will be visible to them for a max of 10 seconds. You can set time intervals of 1,3,5 or 10 seconds after which the message or file will get automatically erased. While Snapchat is limited to only photos and videos, the Poke app lets you text send messages and poke people as well. You can also add your own text over the photos or draw over it. There is a chance of people capturing a screenshot before the message expires, but poke will detect when this happens and show a flash icon next to the name of the person.
