Be a part of the worlds biggest social media artwork
You can be a part of history and also a good cause by contributing with your artistic skills via an app on Facebook. Ingvar Bjorn Thorsteinsson is an artist who is at the forefront of a project which aims to create “The Largest Artwork in the World”.
All you need to do to participate is log in to the app using your Facebook account. Once you sign in, the app will make a digital brush stroke from your position on the map to the location of the previous participant. Suppose you in India sign in after a person in London, it will draw a brush stroke tracing a path from India to London. The colours are generated randomly while the shapes of the brush strokes depends on the time zone of the user.
The Artwork hopes to raise awareness among the public about the situation of many children around the globe and what UNICEF is doing to help them. And what better means to do it than social media, which has the power to connect people from all over the world. This project began on 7th February 2013 and will continue for 66 days to mark 66 years of UNICEF’s selfless service. The final artwork at the end of the project will be painted on a canvas and then auctioned in support of UNICEF.
Make sure to make your mark on this worldwide canvas and support a good cause by visiting the site here.
