Indulge your culinary side with these food related apps
Who says smartphone’s only have to be about productivity? You can use it to indulge in your hobbies or weaknesses as well. So without further ado, let’s get down to apps that can satisfy your appetite for good food.
1. Evernote Food:
“Evernote Food helps you remember the food and meals you love. Evernote Food lets you capture, share and relive your memorable meals. Whether you’re eating at home, at a restaurant, or embarking on a culinary adventure, use Evernote Food to remember all of your delicious experiences.“ So it’s basically like a social network for Foodies. Yum!
2. Fooducate:
“Fooducate analyzes information found in each product’s nutrition panel, shows you highlights on the product and offers better alternatives.”
You scan the bar code on a product and Fooducate returns back the details that manufacturers don’t highlight, like excessive sugar, tricky trans fats, additives and preservatives, high fructose corn syrup, controversial food colourings etc. So now you can eat healthy by just scanning the bar code and not having to worry about reading the fine print!
3. Easy Chef Recipes:
“15,000 of the best chef recipes right on your phone for FREE!” Do i need to say more? In case i need to, here you go:
- Shake your phone to go to a “random” recipe when you lack inspiration.
- Search by ingredients, recipe title or categories (Christmas, Thanksgiving, Valentine’s Day, etc.)
- Store your favourite recipes to your phone for access without Wi-Fi or 3G coverage.
- Rate your favourite recipes and see the best ranked recipes.
- Email your recipe, so you can have a print out at the grocery store.

4. Foodspotting:

Foodspotting helps you to discover not only restautants, but also dishes, complete with appealing pictures, with the option to personalize and hide dishes that you don’t like and vote for and bookmark dishes that you love.
5. Epicurious:

Get the free Epicurious Recipes & Shopping List app. This app from award-winning food site Epicurious.com includes over 28,000 delicious, professionally tested and created recipes from renowned magazines such as Gourmet and Bon Appétit, popular cookbooks, top chefs, and leading restaurants.”
