The Dell XCD28, that’s right, I grabbed one of the very few firsts from Dell’s new Android phone in Mumbai, India this week. Priced at approximately Rs.10,500/- the light on wallet and easy to use and handle Android phone comes with a lovely 2.8 inch QVGA screen with some useful pre-loaded applications.
Looks simple and is very easy to use. One of the cool features is its multiple screens that you can configure on with different apps for you and pace it accordingly for you to use while on the go.
- So you can have an empty screen with just your chat of google talk & on the second all your quick office apps (that’s right you have an Office reader too – You have the free reader with buy the premium / full version for word, powerpoint, exel etc) and as for the third screen, I am sure you will put it to good use.
- This entry – level phone powered with the awesome Android 2.1 OS, has a 3.2 megapixel digital camera and a lots of free and paid applications available at your fingertips thanks to the magic called android.
The Dell XCD28 comes in only black model for now and it also offers full internet browsing, a media player supporting multiple formats for videos, music and photos and features such as geo – tagging and location based applications.
We have so far tested it with Foursquare, Google Maps, Twitter, Facebook Gowalla and it seems to be working fine with a few tweaks needed to begin with while setting it up. (Connect with Us on the Links)
Its not easy to configure the GPRS and rest of the stuff with your carriers in India who seemed to be poor on brand know-how but with the team at Dell known for their customer response time, it becomes a much easy task. Would quote a special thanks to Mohan D (Dell Consumer Team) & Pramesh G (Dell Consumer Sales) for helping us with our queries too.

- Configuring multiple emails, location based checking-in and the availability of applications for facebook, twitter, foursquare, gowalla was never more easier.
All in all, a wonderful entry phone to use from Dell.
My only query is, are we getting a free upgrade to Froyo soon, Dell are you listening…….
Have a wonderful connect ahead!

I love the Android platform and have been using Dell laptops for a long time. That’s why when Dell XCD28 mobile was launched in India I immediately bought it from mnvcollections.com because I had bought 2 other phones from that site and had a good experience with them.
What I liked most about the Dell XCD28 is its responsive large 2.8-inch full touchscreen display which is good for watching videos. And yes, the 3.2 MP camera is neat too.
I hope Dell will launch more mobiles in the future. Sure, will give Blackberry and Nokia some much needed competition.
Very true. Thanks for your comments & views.

Battery backup is very bad.
Very True Mr.Harish
I guess Android Apps loaded all over the mobile, Dell could have planned for a battery that will cater for the user ‘literally’ on the go

discusting battry backup
i have purches a phone dut i not take any disi jone you help me can i dell xcd28 is good ?
True Nitin. The battery backup is extremely poor especially when there are many apps being used which is the whole point in using an Android. Have you tried Using the APP Killer that kills unwanted apps that run in background while phone is on. It saves some battery power.
That would depend on many factors, what type of phone you are looking out for (Android, Blackberry, iPhone etc)
Why is the Battery backup very poor and a problem with the bluetooth device
i can send video files and image files but i cannot send music files to others pliz tell me.
Yes, we too faced similar concerns and have received feedback on the same.
